“I chose Arabic Language and Literature because I love Arabic language, it is one of the noble languages. I enjoy its aesthetic, words and expressions. I love poetry and literature since childhood. It is my mother tongue. I have completed my bachelor studies in Lebanon, but I couldn’t pursue my Master’s studies because of the situation in Syria. Every person is exposed to difficulties that stand in his way, because the road to success is hard and requires real fight by the student. I have fought for my education, rather than succumbing, and did not let these difficulties become an obstacle to my studies. I cannot forget the support of the HOPES project that helped me a lot in overcoming these difficulties. I will soon obtain my Master’s Degree after so much work and struggle, and will achieve my goal. I consider completing my university studies at the Lebanese University as one of my most important achievements. I have completed the HEEAP English course within the HOPES project as well and benefitted from it. I have helped some students choose their fields of studies, oriented them and gave them advices and I have helped students in my neighborhood by giving them private and free lessons given the harsh conditions they live in, and I was so happy about it. HOPES scholarship has supported me and encouraged me until I reached my goal. It played the role of a mother who cares for her children. It has done much for me to pursue my higher education. If it were not for HOPES, I would not be where I am today. I would also like to thank the organizations and countries that supported this program that has greatly succeeded. My message is that every student must have his own message, be responsible, have an opinion and not fear anything or hesitate. Every student must aspire to education, for it is the basis of his thinking and work.”
