“It was difficult to resume my studies after I had left Aleppo University for four years and worked in the construction field. However, I had the will and determination to complete my studies and accepted the challenge again. I finished my studies with a very good grade and was ranked first in the Department of Horticulture in the Faculty of Agriculture at Salahaddin University. The HOPES project helped me complete my bachelor and covered my study expenses during two years. I chose this field of study, first, because I love the field of agriculture and, second, because of the general average on the baccalaureate. I was first in my class although I faced difficulties in English and Kurdish languages, and I was able to be the first within the Department for three consecutive years. I hope to develop the agriculture sector in my country and aspire to complete my master’s studies. To other students facing the same difficulties I say stay patient, determined and willful to complete your studies until you reach your goals.”
