HOPES–Madad is a small, independently run site. I keep data collection light on purpose.

What data this site collects
1) Messages you send
If you email me, I will receive the information you choose to include, typically:
- Your email address
- The contents of your message
- Any details you choose to share
Please do not send sensitive personal information such as passport numbers, NIE numbers, medical details, or anything you would not want stored in an inbox.
2) Basic technical data
Like most websites, the server may automatically log basic technical information, such as:
- IP address
- Browser and device type
- Pages visited
- Date and time of access
This data is used for security, performance, and abuse prevention.
3) Cookies and analytics
This site may use basic cookies for functionality.
If analytics are enabled, they are used only to understand overall traffic patterns, not to track individual visitors.
If you use a cookie banner or consent tool, it will reflect what is actually in use on the site.
Why this data is used
Data is used only for:
- Replying to your messages
- Maintaining and securing the site
- Understanding, in aggregate, how the site is used
I do not sell personal data. I do not use messages to build marketing lists.
Legal basis
Under EU data protection law (GDPR), data is processed on the basis of:
- Consent, when you choose to contact me
- Legitimate interest, for basic security and site operation
How long data is kept
- Emails and messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with your request, then deleted or archived.
- Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and technical reasons.
If you want a message deleted sooner, you can ask.
Who data is shared with
Your data may be processed by service providers needed to run the site, such as:
- Web hosting provider
- Email provider
- Security or anti-spam tools
- Analytics provider (if used)
These providers only process data on my behalf and are not allowed to use it for their own purposes.
Your messages are not published and not shared with third parties.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask what data I hold about you
- Ask for incorrect data to be corrected
- Ask for your data to be deleted
- Object to or restrict certain processing

I take reasonable steps to protect the site and email account, but no system is perfect. Please do not send sensitive personal information by email.
