The fourth issue of the HOPES-LEB e-newsletter is now available

Dear partners, friends and colleagues,

We are pleased to share with you the fourth issue of our HOPES-LEB e-newsletter.

Beside an update on our activities and achievements during the previous months, you find overviews of the nine short projects we are currently funding. Through a series of interviews with representatives from our partner institutions and testimonies from beneficiaries of these projects, you will witness the high level of dedication and engagement our partners are showing to achieve their goals despite the challenges faced.

The belief that Change is possible is reflected in an article in which our students discuss a painting by Mrs. Mathilda Al Feghali, a current HOPES-LEB scholarship holder. The painting’s message, which reflects on the Beirut Blast and is an allegory of the current situation in Lebanon, is interpreted by our students as one of hope and strength and courage to pursue the difficult road out of the current misery.

Another article is dedicated to the alumni of the HOPES and HOPES-LEB projects. Under the title “Where they are now?”, we start with this issue of our newsletter a series of portraits of former scholarship holders, learning about the impact the scholarship had on their individual development and following them on their paths of life after graduation.

We hope you will enjoy reading these articles as much as we enjoyed preparing and writing them. As always, we thank you being part of our HOPES-LEB community!

Best Regards,

HOPES-LEB team
