“My name is Anmar Alwani and I am a CG artist (Computer Graphic artist) who is specialized in Digital Drawing and Animation but I also do some traditional art. I finished my Master degree in the Animation field (Graphic Department) from the faculty of Fine Arts at Helwan University in 2016. I chose this field because I was very passionate about art since my childhood and had done many exhibitions before. As a digital artist, I had registered in many job-employing sites, but I could not find a suitable one in spite of receiving daily job vacancies and opportunities because I was not fluent enough to get the accurate description for each offered job. The HEEAP English courses offered by the HOPES project helped me improve my English language skills and enhance the way I deal with my every day English on various occasions (media, people ….) It also helped me enhance my technical skills and offered me support to study without using translation, the most recent developed design and animation softwares which can improve my productivity and my performance. These English lessons included some activities and exercises that contain a good number of idioms and expressions facilitating my studies and helping me to understand English sources more efficiently.  Another success story would be getting prizes (Gold/silver and Bronze medals) in the Johnny Grammar’s Word Challenge quiz developed by the British Council on a mobile application and achieving the rank 15 in the new world global for certain components. Now, if I want to probe more about any topic or issue I face in my ordinary life, I can search about it using my English language skills and analyse the most important and useful results. Language can open many horizons and offer opportunities such as being able to get a high score in the IELTS exam and being able to apply for many important scholarships abroad such as Chevening and DAAD Scholarships. My message to other students facing the same difficulties is to try to practice English as much as you can and surround yourself with English things such as foreign media (TV shows, meetings, Music ….) and set your device with this language. Try to talk to foreign people as much as you can using some apps, which allow you to contact them easily and make discussions with your friends who are passionate like you in English to benefit from each other.”
