Objectives: Together for Better Higher Education aims to improve access and retention to higher education in Baalbeck – Hermel and labor market for vulnerable Lebanese and Syrian youth.

  • To facilitate access to higher education for vulnerable Lebanese and Syrian youths through linguistics and digital capacity building
  • To ensure the retention of Lebanese and Syrian youths in higher education through psychosocial, career development, and skills training

Target group: 180 Lebanese and Syrian refugee students in Lebanon  

Project Location: Baalbeck-Hermel , Lebanon

Planned Activities:

  • Access to higher education
    • English and French language courses
    • Basic, intermediate, and advanced computer skills courses 
    • Career orientation sessions and mentorship 
  • Retention in higher education
    • Psychosocial support (PSS) sessions 
    • Career development techniques and skills training:
      • Teamwork
      • Communication skills, Conversation and public speaking
      • Problem solving skills 
      • Resiliency and Leadership 
    • Practical and technical training in the students’ majors
