The ‘Education Desks’ situated at the HOPES offices in the different countries are intended to provide information related to Higher Education study opportunities open to refugees from Syria in the region including online, joint and transnational education programmes (TNE). They also provide information about language courses, training and funding opportunities as well as entry requirements and further study conditions, to enable potential students to find adequate and high-quality further training, tertiary education courses and innovative programmes that suit their needs.

The Education Desks are open five days a week with regular opening hours in the five countries Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. The individualized advisory services and guidance cover all opportunities including scholarships and training courses for students and are not limited only to the scholarship opportunities provided by HOPES. The education officers can provide information on specific entry requirements and administrative services. They also take into consideration the particular situation and the qualifications of each student to help them identify suitable options to access education or resume their learning paths.

The Education officers also provide help to the HOPES scholarship holders who have been selected to the Scholarship Fund. Selected students are supported in the placement process in universities and throughout their studies.

Our education officers are available to provide individual academic advice to interested students through face-to-face meetings, telephone and email.
