İstanbul University

The project aims to increase the Syrian youths access and participation to higher education through increasing awareness among HEI staff and providing information and guidance to potential students and voluntary organisations and local Ministry of National Education (MoNE) personnel working with refugees.

It further aims to contribute to improving the HEI’s capacity to provide accurate information regarding application and admission process through preparation of a guideline for HEIs and a report for Turkish Higher Education Council, Yükseköğretim Kurulu (YÖK) which is the central policy maker in HE domain.

Along with the objectives of the Call for Proposals the project aims to increase the Syrian youths access and participation to higher education through increasing awareness among İstanbul University reception and admission staff. Improved knowledge and capacity will increase the number of Syrian students in the system which is a target of CoHE and several NGO’s working on higher education.

Duration of the Project: 5 months
