EU-funded HOPES Project Awards 57 Syrian and Jordanian Students with a one year BA and Master Scholarships for the third time

The EU-funded HOPES project held a ceremony on October 17, 2018 to award 57 students from Syria and Jordan with scholarships for a one-year Bachelor and Master degrees to continue their final year of study at several Jordanian universities. 

The ceremony took place at the Gerasa Hotel, Amman and was attended by representatives of the Delegation to the European Union to Jordan, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and several national and international educational institutions.

The welcome addresses incorporated a speech from Dr. Carsten Walbiner, the HOPES project director, as well as HOPES students representatives Mohammad Aldeiri, Haneen Tohmaz and Aya Al Shamaa’.  

After the opening, the scholarship certificates were awarded to 57 students, and 12 certificates with prizes were awarded to top achievers among HOPES students.

To date, HOPES has granted 621 full

scholarships in Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey.  These scholarships and the regular follow up with the students are helping them pursue their educational path and prepare them for challenges of their future.
